What is a sponsored event and how does it work?

They’ve been around for ever (we all remember bringing our own sponsorship forms home!)but in recent years, they’ve undergone a digital transformation, like so much else in ourlives. Rather than donating money directly, sponsoredevents involve children carrying outan activity, such as acolour-run, a read-a-thon, or a sponsored silence (the more challengingthe better!) and askingfriends and family to donate to their chosen cause in support of theiractions. Paper sponsorship forms have been replaced by SuperKind’s online fundraisingplatform, bringing with it a host of benefits, but the rest of the premise remains largelyunchanged! Children can create their own individual fundraising pages, or the sponsorshipcan be collected at a class, house, year or school level. Sponsored events can be used toraise money for an external charity, or to support the PTA and school’s own needs.
