Readathon 2025

The Little Eaton Primary School Fundraising Group are running a Readathon and we’d love your child to join.

It’s been proven that children who read for pleasure are more likely to be successful and happy.

The Readathon aims to inspire reluctant readers to give it a go and keen readers to read more widely. Pupils can read whatever they want; books, e-books, comics, classics - anything goes. Each can be read as many times as they like. Sharing books is fine too, in fact recommended! Children are not being assessed and are not required to take part, it’s all about reading for fun! The money they raise in sponsorship will help support our school.

All you have to do is:

  • Each family to set their own reading time targets between the 3rd of March until the 16th of March. If your child is struggling/unable to read, the Readathon could include a family member reading them a story instead.
  • Help them find sponsorship from family and friends.
  • The Readathon will begin in school on the 3rd of March, where the school will support the children to all start there Readathon challenge during the school’s Reading Week (World Book Day is on the 6th of March).

 

Each child that participates will receive a bookmark.

There will also be a prize per class to win a voucher, as well as the child in each class that raises the highest funds also receiving a voucher. These children will each get a special mention in the school assembly.
