Help Us Complete the OLSJ Outdoor Classroom!

On Sunday 6th July, Our Lady & St Joseph schoolchildren will take part in their third Run Kids Run challenge—an exciting 2km run around Highbury Fields (1km for Reception and younger). This much-loved event brings together pupils, parents, and the wider community from local primary schools to support causes that truly matter.

This year, we’re running to raise funds for our Outdoor Classroom Project—a vision that began last year and is now within reach. Thanks to your incredible generosity, gift-aid support, and a contribution from Run Kids Run’s sponsors, last year we raised an amazing £11,200. We’ve worked closely with the school ever since to design a space that’s not just functional, but inspiring and sustainable. However, due to rising costs, we’ve been unable to complete the build as originally envisioned.

We are delighted to share that construction of the outdoor classroom will begin this summer! But to bring the full design to life —including exciting features like a renewable energy pack (with educational solar and wind elements), power points, lighting, and all-weather roll-down panels— and keep improving our school outdoor space, we need your help to raise an additional £5,000.

Every donation—big or small—will bring us one step closer to a unique and multifunctional space that will serve as:

• a creative hub for outdoor learning,
• a shelter and gathering place in all seasons,
• a spark for unforgettable memories.

Even better, if 59 or more of our pupils participate in the run, Run Kids Run’s sponsors will reward our efforts with an extra £5,000 in sponsorship!
