Ready,Steady…..Read!

To celebrate and encourage a love of reading at home and school, and to fund lots of wonderful new books for the children to share, we are running a sponsored read between Monday 26th January and Sunday 1st February.

The ‘Ready, Steady…Read!’ event is being organised by our PTA, Friends of Kents Hill Park, in conjunction with our local Usborne Partner, Lisa Colley, and all the money raised will go towards brand new books for our school. In addition to the sponsorship money, Usborne will also donate up to 60% of the total raised in extra free books tothe school. So, for every £600 raised, we will get an extra £360 in FREE Usborne books!

Please help us to enhance our reading resources for pupils by asking family and friends to sponsor your child to read each day. This could be either reading to themselves, to others, or being read to. They can read books, comics, magazines, newspapers, menus, websites, recipes, poems, leaflets, instructions – anything with words. We know lots of the children are already keen readers so this should be very straightforward for them to do, raising money for books and reads towards the Reading Rocket Race at the same time! Family and friends who sponsor your child can either give an amount per minute of reading or a total donation.
