With World Book Day on Thursday 5th March, the SJSA would like to take this opportunity to further encourage students to develop a lifelong love of reading while helping raise funds to support our school. We invite your child(ren) to take part in a READaTHON.

Each student can choose their own personal daily reading goal over a 7-day period sometime during the rest of this half term (until 27th March 2026). Examples of goals include:

  • reading a set number of books within a 7-day period
  • reading a certain number of minutes or pages a day
  • being read to by someone for 7 nights

We hope that students set a goal they believe they can achieve while also being one that further encourages them to develop their literary skills.

Children can read a variety of books, comics, magazines, menus, websites, recipes, poems, leaflets, and instructions - anything with words!

We are asking for your assistance collecting donations from family and friends to support your child’s goal.
