The Invictus Games are a special event similar to The Paralympics for soldiers who have been injured or disabled from war. Prince Harry founded the charity in 2014 after his time at in the forces, seeing people injured or disabled and who were forced to stop serving their country. Year 6 have chosen this charity because we were inspired by the extraordinary feats of the competitors in the games as well as its link to our topic Extraordinary People. (written by 6G)
On Tuesday morning, we are going to compete in events based on The Invictus Games including Seated Volleyball and Unsighted Navigation, helping us to experience the same trials faced by those competing in the Games themselves. We will be in groups and having lots of fun! (written by 6H)
With the money we raise, we can help these ex servicemen and women to recover from their injuries and feel strong and powerful again. Every donation, even £1, will help the people who served our country build a path to glory. (written by 6B)
