Welcome to Delce Academy's Ready Steady Read Event page. 

To celebrate 2026 being the National year of Reading, World Book Day and encourage a lifelong love of reading at home and school, we are running a sponsored read between the 16th -22nd June

All the money raised will go towards brand new books for our school. In addition to the sponsorship money, Usborne will also donate up to 60% of the total raised in EXTRA FREE BOOKS to the school. So, for every £600 raised, we will get an extra £360 in FREE Usborne books!

 Please help us to enhance our reading resources for pupils by encouraging your child to spend a small amount of time each day either reading to themselves, to others, or being read to. They can read books, comics, magazines, newspapers, menus, websites, recipes, poems, leaflets, instructions – anything with words!

There will even be a prize for the child that has read the most or raised the most!

 If you are able to support our sponsored read, your child will have recieved a sponsor form to get sponsors from friends and family and all sponsor money can be uploaded via this link.

Your child will also receive a reading log  at school to record their reading. Please could you bring these to school 26th June

Would it be possible for all sponsor money to be added to this link by the 26th June so we can get all of the books and free books ordered for your children at school. 

We look forward to having lots more books for your child to read, share and enjoy.
