THE BIG 100KM WALK!

Over Saturday 05th and Sunday 06th September we (Laura O'Malley, Jo Constantine and Christina Kavanagh) will be undertaking a gruelling 100km Ultra Challenge, trekking from Eastbourne to Arundel along the South Coast to raise funds for our local primary school charity - Friends of Great Leighs School.  The trek will take us from Eastbourne, up Beachy Head, along the magnificent Seven Sisters, along the South Downs Way, into Brighton, on to Devil’s Dyke, with a few ups and downs before historic Arundel comes into view.

Why our local primary school?  Like many schools - it is hugely underfunded.  Primary years are extremely formative.  All children deserve a fantastic start in life, and without such fundraising, grants or donations, schools simply do not have spare funds for things like fantastic outdoor equipment, decent library resources for access to broad literature, or funds for extracurricular school trips to name but a few things.  

Over the first day we will cover 57km, followed by a mandatory set-off at 6.30am on the Sunday to cover the final 43km.  Through light and dark, come rain or shine, we will keep putting one foot in front of the other until we reach that finishing line!

The blister packs are ready and the jelly babies on order!  If anyone could spare a pound or two we would be extremely grateful for any donations or support given - every single pound will help us to dig deep when it starts to get tough!  And if any corporates would like to sponsor our shirts please do get in touch!
