Since 2006, The Royal High School Bath has been proud to support The Crane Academy — a remarkable, community-funded school in Kenya that transforms the lives of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. What began with the sponsorship of just one student has blossomed into a longstanding partnership that now supports 13 students, thanks to the generosity of our school community.
Located in Kitale, Kenya, The Crane Academy provides education to children aged 2 to 17, nurturing young learners from Early Years (ages 2–6), through Primary (ages 7–11), and on to Secondary Junior classes (ages 12–17). The school now aims to expand by creating a Secondary Senior section to accommodate older students from next year — a vital step in allowing more children to complete their education in a supportive environment.
Ways You Can Support The Crane Academy
Whether you’re new to the cause or have supported us before, there are several meaningful ways to contribute:
🔹 Make a One-Off Donation
Ideal for topping up our current sponsorship fund or contributing to specific improvement projects.
🔹 Set Up a Regular Donation
Via direct debit into our dedicated Crane account — regular contributions ensure consistent funding for student sponsorships and can be directed towards new initiatives if a surplus arises.
🔹 Sponsor a Student (£500 per year)
Your donation will cover the full cost of a student’s education for one academic year. You will receive regular updates, photos, and academic reports for your sponsored student, and you’re welcome to choose whether you’d prefer to sponsor a girl or boy
