What we do

At Battersea, we take in every animal who needs us. We give each one lots of love and expert care and get to know their characters and quirks so we can find them a new home that’s just right for them.

All the knowledge we gather in our centres helps us to improve the lives of the animals we’ll never meet, through our work with other rescue organisations and charities. We also help people make informed choices when getting a pet, we provide training and welfare advice, and we campaign for changes in the law when we see that dogs and cats, or their owners deserve better. We want to be here for every dog and cat, wherever they are, for as long as they need us.

How you can support Battersea Dogs & Cats Home:

Buy a gift for our animals:

Give the dogs and cats at Battersea a little extra love by treating them to something special. For example, £5 can buy a treat pack, £10 can provide a warm place to sleep, and £100 can pay for an essential welcome kit including a litter tray and collar bowl.

Host a fundraiser to raise money for us:

We couldn't do what we do without the fundraising efforts of our generous supporters. If you’d like to do something themed, you could: organise a pet dress up day at your school, take part in a sponsored dog walk, or organise a pet themed cake sale.

Make or donate goods:

There are lots of things our dogs and cats can use, so we're always on the lookout for donations of new or used items. If you're feeling creative there are also lots of things that you can make for our animals. We always need: clean pet bedding, head collars, dog and cat toys, dog coats, food and water bowls, puppy pads, and the list goes on!
