(a) to preserve and conserve animal species in their natural habitat on an international basis and to undertake all relevant research activities in connection therewith or ancillary thereto, and to publish the useful results of such research, and to provide relevant educational materials and equipment and other support to communities in areas where preservation and conservation are undertaken;
(b) to prevent all types of cruelty and abuse of animals and wildlife particularly in zoos and other places where animals are kept in captivity.
(c) to educate the public and to advance the education of natural history, environmental studies, ecology and resource conservation in an industrial, urban, rural, natural and marine environments;
(d) to relieve the suffering of animals of any species which are in need of care and attention and (where appropriate) assist in the provision of improved facilities for the care of animals in captivity.
