WHAT WE DO
At Chance to Shine, we believe all young people deserve the opportunity to develop life skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of playing cricket. We’re dedicated to making cricket accessible to children and young people of all backgrounds, inspiring them to thrive both on and off the field.

Our Work
State Schools
We bring cricket into schools, introducing children to the game through engaging and inclusive lessons. Our programs teach fundamental skills like teamwork, resilience, and leadership while promoting an active lifestyle.
Street Cricket
Our Street Cricket programs provide free, fast-paced sessions in urban areas, giving young people in underserved communities a safe space to play and grow. These sessions are designed to break down barriers, offering an alternative to traditional club cricket.
Life Skills Through Sport
Cricket is more than just a game—it’s a powerful tool for teaching essential life skills. Our sessions help young people build confidence, communication skills, and respect for others, preparing them for future challenges.
Inspiring Young Leaders
We empower young people to take on leadership roles within their communities, using cricket as a platform to develop their potential and inspire others.

Our Impact
- 604,283 - Young people participated in Chance to Shine programmes
- 4,357 - We worked in 4,357 state primary schools. That’s almost 1 in 4 across England and Wales
- 50/50 - Gender Split
- 993 - We had 993 coaches deliver Chance to Shine Sessions
- 130,801 - Hours of support across England, Wales and Scotland. That’s more than triple the amount of time England’s men and women teams have spent on the pitch playing Tests, ODIs and T20Is in 150 years!
Why It Matters
By making cricket accessible, we’re helping to create a more inclusive and supportive environment where every young person can flourish. Whether it’s their first time picking up a bat or ball or their first step toward a lifelong passion, we’re proud to give every child the chance to shine.
Join us in transforming lives through cricket. Together, we can inspire the next generation.
