Fundraise for Doorstep
Who we help

We help families who find themselves homeless for a number of reasons including being too poorly to work, loosing their job, or being refugee. We believe that no family deserves to be homeless. 

We help the 45 families living in the hostels directly above our charity building, as well as those living in other temporary accommodation in North Camden,  London.

How we help

Doorstep helps approximately 200-250 people each year by providing a range of services, including:

  • Play and creative activities for children
  • After-school clubs
  • Free laundry facilities
  • Classes and information sessions for adults, for example, classes to help them get back into work
  • Free gently used toys, books, clothes, baby equipment and household goods at our weekly bazaars
  • Outings and special activities during the school holidays
  • Healthy snacks & meals
  • Food hampers and gifts at holiday times
How you can support Doorstep:
  • Donate: Every Wednesday between 10am to 3pm we accept donations of adult and children’s clothing, toys, books, baby equipment, homeware and small electrical items. We have limited storage space so please don’t bring larger items (such as cots) without checking with us first. Together with one of your parents, you can email: [email protected] to check. Donations can be dropped off at: 11a Broadhurst Gardens, London, NW6 3QX.
  • Raise money: Or, you can raise money for Doorstep to help us help families in need. The money will help us run the hostels (places where people can stay) and the activities and services within them, to help lift people out of homelessness.
