(i) to relieve the need, hardship or distress throughout the world amongst refugees, displaced persons and all those who have fled from or have been forced to leave their homes as a result of war, persecution or natural disaster overseas and amongst those disrupted communities following their return home: (ii) to advance public education in the difficulties experienced by refugees and displaced persons and to promote, encourage, assist, co-ordinate and carry out research into the conditions of life of refugees and their social and economic circumstances and to publish the useful results of such research.
