What we do!
At Small Steps we run free weekly group sessions for young children with physical disabilities. We support them in all areas of their development, helping the children to maximise their independence skills. We provide a tailored holistic package of support, rooted in the principles of conductive education, that gives physically disabled children the tools they need to learn, grow and thrive. Whilst also providing a much-needed support network for their families, ensuring they feel connected and supported too.

Why Small Steps is important...
“Nobody expects to have a baby with special needs and when you receive a diagnosis your life is transformed forever. We spent the first year of Imogen's life in medical consultation after medical consultation trying to absorb the barrage of bad news, list after list of things she would never be able to do, specialist after specialist.
Small Steps is a place where from the moment we arrived we were surrounded by positivity and are made to feel like part of a family; a family which shares our belief in Imogen's potential. The Small Steps team have helped us to achieve huge milestones by breaking them down into manageable goals and guiding us every step of the way in reaching them. Imogen loves every session and has no idea how much good all of the fun she is having is actually doing her and as a parent you get to meet and chat with other parents and carers.
All of this, the weekly sessions, the equipment and toys the children use, the access to resources and advice, is provided to us for free.”
