Who we are

We are the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to action against climate change. Along with our sister organisations Stop Climate Chaos Cymru and Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, we are a group of over 100 organisations — including the National Trust, Women's Institute, Oxfam, and RSPB —  and 22 million voices strong. We are reaching across the UK to show our love for all the things we want to protect from climate change, and to ask politicians to put aside their differences and commit to doing whatever is necessary to protect them.

Our impact

Together we’ve already achieved so much; from reaching millions with our annual Show the Love campaign; to the campaign that led to the UK becoming the first major economy to set a legally binding net zero target; to making history at the biggest ever mass lobby for climate, nature and people. In 2021, over 200,000 people showed up for the planet during the first Great Big Green Week, a celebration of action to tackle the climate and nature crises with more than 5000 events nationwide.

Our mission

We believe that a future where the UK no longer contributes to climate change is within reach. We work with people from all walks of life and in communities across the UK to achieve a cleaner, greener future and protect the people and places we love from the impacts of climate change.

How you can support The Climate Coalition:

There are lots of ways you can get involved with our work, but the main way is taking part in our campaigns, such as Show The Love and the Great Big Green Week.

Every February, we use the power of green hearts to show decision makers that we want to see urgent and decisive action to tackle climate change, for the love of our families, homes and livelihoods. From local community groups to schools to churches, people from all walks of life craft and share green hearts to demonstrate their desire for hope and change, and share stories of the people and places they love and want to protect. Anyone can get involved - you can even get your family, friends and neighbours involved too!

The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. Tens of thousands of people in every corner of the country will celebrate the heartfelt, brave, everyday actions being taken to stand up for nature and fight climate change. You can take part by hosting events and activities in your local area to celebrate how your community is taking action to tackle climate change and protect green spaces, and encourage others to get involved too. Another great way to take action to help create a cleaner, greener future is to make  your voice heard. Through our website, you can email your MP to tell them we need to see real and rapid action from the Government to tackle climate change and protect nature.
