2 to relieve poverty, hardship, distress, homelessness and sickness in deptford and the surrounding area, and also elsewhere at the discretion of the trustees.
3 to further or benefit the residents of deptford and the surrounding area by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education, and to organise community activities and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents;
