It all began in 1976, when His Majesty King Charles III, when he was His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, had a bold idea.
Having completed his duty in the Royal Navy, HM The King Charles III became dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK. He founded His Trust to deliver on that commitment.
How we support young people
The Prince’s Trust believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed, no matter what their background or the challenges they are facing. We help those from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.
The courses offered by The Trust help young people aged 11-30 to develop essential life skills, get ready for work and access job opportunities. We support them to find work because having a job or running a business can lead to a more stable, fulfilling life.
Our impact
Every day, our inspirational young people take the opportunity to change their lives for the better. We’re proud of the 1,000,000 young people whose lives we’ve touched over the past 40 years.
The people we’ve worked with have gone on to achieve amazing things. For example, the famous magician, Dynamo. Dynamo had a difficult start to life. He was bullied in school and suffered from Crohn’s disease. He ended up spending six months in hospital and thought he’d never get out.
The Prince’s Trust helped him follow his dream of becoming a magician. We gave him advice, inspiration and a bit of money to help him build a career. Now Dynamo has his own TV series.
How you can support The Princes Trust:
As a charity, our work wouldn’t be possible without the amazing support of our partners and supporters. Discover how you can support our work.
Raise money for Prince’s Trust. £10 could provide a young person with an employability mentor.
Attend one of our fundraising events. We host all sorts of fun events from Brilliant Breakfasts, to sporting challenges, to our Christmas Carol Concert at St Paul’s Cathedral.
