What we stand for
UNICEF stands for the United Nations Children’s Fund.
We work to build a better world for every child, every day, everywhere.
Who we help
We work to build a better world for every child.
We work with families, local communities, organisations and governments in more than 190 countries to help every child realise their full potential. We work in some of the toughest places, reaching the furthest from help, the most disadvantaged, and the most at risk.
What we do
UNICEF saves children’s lives with vaccines, clean water and food. UNICEF protects children from violence. And UNICEF helps children fulfil their potential, by supporting quality education and training. UNICEF works for every child, to build a better world for everyone.
We have done more to influence laws, policies and customs to help protect children than any other charity. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.
How you can support Unicef:
There are loads of fantastic ways your school can help protect children in danger this year. Below are some great ideas to help you get started!
- Fundraise in an emergency– Get your school to fundraise for one of our emergency appeals, such as Cyclone Idai, so we can deliver life-saving supplies, and keep vulnerable children safe.
- UNICEF-themed mufti day– Get pupils and staff pay a pound and come to school in head to toe blue.
- School disco– Sell tickets, get those dancing shoes on and raise money for UNICEF in the process!
- Sports day– Organise your school’s sports day. Invite friends and family to watch and sell refreshments to boost your fundraising total.
- Talent show– Dance, sing and show your talents for UNICEF. Ask people to pay a £5 donation to attend the show.
- Quiz fundraiser – Get your thinking caps on and organise a quiz. Collect an entry fee from every player and see which team will be victorious!
