Eccleston Lane Ends Primary School

Eccleston Lane Ends headteacher, Sarah Bond, tells us how they raised nearly £3,000 through their Tough Runner, hosted on SuperKind.

Tell us more about your fundraiser?

  • We had a Tough Runner event where the children needed to complete a course consisting of 15 fun and challenging obstacles. This took place on our school field and was VERY muddy by the end!
  • We charged the children a £4 entrance fee which covered the cost of the Tough Runner event and then had a sponsorship page to collect extra donations from children’s friends and family.

How did the fundraising event (Tough Runner) benefit the students?

  • The event promoted teamwork, physical fitness and resilience amongst our pupils and was a great deal of fun!

How did raising money on SuperKind compare to your previous fundraising experiences?

  • We have completed fundraising events before (last year we did a Colour Run) and used paper sponsorship form – we raised about £1000. This year we had a target of £2500 and actually raised almost £3000!! This will enable us to buy a new trim trail for our school field, again promoting physical fitness and teamwork.

Did you have any feedback from parents/carers about the event?

  • Parents loved the event and we had lots of positive feedback. They also loved the SuperKind donation platform and found it really easy to use. They particuarly loved the fact they could share the link with friends and family. We also shared the link on our local community social media group and had some community sponsorship.
