Would you like to raise money for your school, boost vital literacy skills, and engage your students in a fun fundraising challenge?

This February half term, go all in by running your own fundraiser — supporting both the National Year of Reading and your school, helping get everyone in the UK reading for pleasure.

The National Literacy Trust’s latest research shows that only 1 in 3 children in the UK say they enjoy reading in their free time. This is important because reading for pleasure helps you to develop:

  • Wider literacy skills
  • Good wellbeing and confidence
  • Empathy
  • Aptitude for learning

The National Year of Reading is aiming to reverse the long-term declines in reading for pleasure by making reading relevant, engaging new audiences and building the systems and partnerships to embed lasting, meaningful change.

Why take part?
By encouraging your students to get involved in a fundraiser of your choice, the money you raise will:
  • Support our mission to embed reading for pleasure in school culture and leadership around the UK through the National Year of Reading.
  • 50% of the funds raised will also support your own school library, enabling you to buy new books to help more students discover the stories they love.
How to get started:
  1. Sign up and set up a fundraising page. The form is set to raise money for the National Year of Reading, click the blue ‘Add another charity’ button to add your school too (& get in touch with SuperKind if you can’t see your school listed).
  2. We will send you our Go All In Fundraising resources, including an A-Z of fundraising ideas and template emails to share your fundraising with the rest of your school!
  3. Our fundraising team will support you every step of the way!

And there will be some exciting prizes in store for the fundraising pages with the most donations!
