Halterworth School Association  (HSA) (Charity Number 1086284) is the parent teacher association for Halterworth Primary School, Romsey, Hampshire.

The aim of the HSA is to enhance the education of the pupils of Halterworth Primary school, by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school, not normally provided by the Government.

Every year the HSA subside all pupils by donating the school a per head amount of money to subside the children’s school trips. This is our small contribution to help to reduce the continuing strain on our families’ pockets and help reduce the chance of any child missing out on their memory making school trips.

We change our main fundraising focus year based on the school’s request. For instance, projects have included outdoor play equipment, shelters that can be used as outdoor learning spaces as well as providing the school with a class set of VR headsets and refreshing class iPads and Chromebooks.

To bridge social inequalities and help both reduce families costs as well as benefit the environment, we run a second-hand uniform shed; items children have grown out of are donated and sold for £1. Making a positive impact across the wider school community’s families budgets as well as the wider ecological impact. We also have a clothes recycling bank on site and a inkjet cartridge recycling scheme; raising money whilst helping the environment too by reducing landfill

The HSA also work with the school council, run by the children, to raise funds for a local and national charity, as chosen by the pupils.

Not all of our events are run solely to raise as much money as possible though; we try to keep costs low so everyone can join in and we think having a vibrant community event, including as many as possible is really important.
