On Saturday 18th April, 13:00–14:00 at Shirley Pool in Kentish Road, Southampton, SO15 3ER will come alive with the energy and determination of Halterworth pupils taking on the 2026 HSA Swimathon.
For one hour, our swimmers will challenge themselves to complete as many lengths as they can — at their own pace, with as many breaks as they need, and with plenty of encouragement along the way.
This is a truly inclusive event designed for ALL swimming abilities. A qualified lifeguard will be on duty throughout, and DBS‑checked helpers will be in the water to support anyone who needs a confidence boost. Children are welcome to use flotation aids, and parents can join them in the pool if extra reassurance is needed. The aim is simple: feel safe, have fun, and keep moving.
At the end of the hour, every single length recorded by the poolside length counters will be added together, to get the cumulative number of lengths swum by all participants to discover how far we’ve travelled together.
In previous years, Halterworth pupils have achieved incredible things — including swimming the equivalent of the English Channel — and raising hundreds of pounds for charity in the process. Their enthusiasm and resilience have made the Swimathon a much‑loved tradition, and we’re excited to bring it back in 2026 to support our very own school charity, the HSA.
🫵🏽 How can you help, without even getting your toes wet? 💦
Your sponsorship helps fuel that excitement at the event. It motivates our swimmers (especially those who are sponsored on a per length basis!), strengthens our school community, and directly supports projects that benefit every child at Halterworth Primary School. Whether you’re cheering from the poolside or supporting from afar, your contribution makes a real difference.
💖 Thank you for getting behind our swimmers — and for helping us make a big splash for a great cause!
