Happy Shoesday is simple and fun: pupils wear any shoes that make them feel happy — bright, bold, sparkly, sporty, decorated or wonderfully unique — and donate what they can. It’s an easy way to celebrate walking, boost pupil wellbeing, and create a positive, inclusive whole school experience. 
Why take part?
  • 50% of the money raised stays with St Mary's, providing funds for outdoor provision
  • The other 50% supports Living Streets, helping campaign for safer, cleaner, more walkable streets for all children.
  • It’s a brilliant way to engage families in Walk to School Week and encourage healthy, active travel habits.
  • Pupils love expressing themselves, and it creates a fun, whole-school buzz.
How the day works
  • Children wear shoes that make them feel happy. 
  • Families donate via SuperKind, a free award-winning platform for schools.
  • After the event, funds are automatically divided: 50% to your school and 50% to Living Streets.
