Did you know that 2026 is the National Year of Reading!?  Another wonderful reason to delve deeper into the magical worlds that books open up to our children helping them to discover the joy of reading for pleasure and encouraging a reading habit that enhances their lives well into adult life!

This March, as part of our broader celebration of this special year, Bodsham Primary School is thrilled to take part in the Ready Steady Read challenge in partnership with Usborne Books.

From bedtime stories and poems to chapter books, comics, fascinating non-fiction, magazines and more, whether reading alone or with a grown up (get your reading voices ready!!), we want to inspire a love of reading in our children.  

This sponsored reading challenge will not only get Bodsham kids leafing through the pages, every penny raised will go towards brand new Usborne books for our school library!

The more we raise, the more free books we raise from Usborne, so every little really does help.

Let's encourage a love of reading, build our school library, and empower our children through the magic of books.
