Summer Read-a-thon

To celebrate the National Year of Reading, Brindishe Manor is holding a read-a-thon over the summer holidays!

We are fundraising to bring brand new, updated book corners to our classrooms this Autumn term. What better way to encourage children to enjoy some book time over the holidays?

🏅 The Challenge

Immerse yourself in as many new stories as you can over the summer!

🏅 Earn a bookmark

All children who read at least 6 picture books or 3 chapter books over the summer break will receive a special bookmark!

🏅 Classroom trophy

There will be a certificate awarded to the class that collectively reads the most books in KS1 and KS2.

💡 Mix it up!

Keep things exciting by playing book bingo or sharing your favourite book recommendations with your friends. Or try a "read the book, watch the movie family challenge". Read it together during the week, then grab the popcorn for a weekend film night.

🏛️ Double the fun with Lewisham Libraries

Why not do this in conjunction with the Lewisham Libraries Summer Reading Challenge? Head down to your local library to find out more and double your reading achievements this summer!

💰 How to raise funds & submit

Getting sponsored is easy! You can choose how you want to collect your funds:

  • Option 1: Collect sponsorship using the paper form which will be sent home before the end of term.

  • Option 2: Go digital! Sign up to create a fundraising page by clicking the Join this Campaign button at the top of the page to easily share your goal with friends and family online.

⚠️ Important Deadline: Any cash collected should be handed in to the school office in a sealed envelope by Friday 11th September.
