£25 for 2025 SPONSORED CHALLENGE

In May, the school is going to take on a ‘£25 for 2025 Sponsored Challenge.’

Every year group will take part in a different sponsored activity within the school day, the details of which are outlined below. Our aspiration is for children to each raise up to £25 by asking people within their friends and family network to sponsor them to take part – parents, foster carers, grandparents, aunties, uncles, friends, neighbours and to explain why they are doing this. Any amount of donations will be gratefully received, equally we accept donations above £25.

If every child in the school takes part, we have the potential to raise almost £12,000! Of the money raised the school would like to donate a percentage of this to charity – 10% to a local charity, 10% to a national charity and 10% to an international charity. Parents, carers, staff and the children will be invited to make suggestions as to which charities we support. The children will then have the opportunity to vote on one charity. Staff and parents and carers will vote for the other two charities.

It is hoped that this will develop the children’s awareness and understanding of helping others and a deeper recognition of important causes. Please make your nominations by completing the short survey at this link:

The remaining 70% of monies raised will go towards installing a giant sand pit on the field that will hold 40 cubic tonnes of sand. As well as, further improvements and renovations to our play areas to make the children’s playtimes even better.

The children will take part in the following activities on the dates below:

  • Friday 9th May – Year 5 will take part in a ‘Jogathon’ and see how many laps of the field they can complete in a given time.
  • Monday 12th May – Early Years & Year 1 will take part in a ‘Scoot/Pedal-athon’ to see how many laps of the playground they can complete on a scooter or bike in a given time.
  • Tuesday 13th May – Years 3 & 4 will choose between a ‘Drawathon’ or a ‘Sportathon’.
  • Thursday 15th May – Year 2 will take part in a continuous non-stop 25 minutes ‘Moveathon’.
  • Friday 16th May – Year 6 will complete a ‘Scorethon’ to see how many goals/baskets they can score in a given time.

We recognise that this event will require a level of support from parents/carers to maximise the money raised and we hope that you will be able to support us by talking to your children about the importance of helping others and also how they are directly benefiting their own school.

All sponsorship funds need to be received by the 22nd May 2025.

Thank you for your ongoing support of PTA events – it is hugely appreciated!
