125 Year Anniversary Sponsorship Challenge – Year 2

Our school celebrates it's 125th Birthday this year!

Year 2 have chosen to do a sponsored read and their 125 Challenge is to read 125 Books in a Week!!

Please sponsor us to raise money towards a new playground and other outside projects which include:

  1. A New Playground behind the nursery building could provide more wet weather play surfaces and improve outdoor facilities throughout the year. Target £30,000.
  2. We’ve been awarded a lottery grant to build a Rainwater Garden which will provide planting and education for our school and the community. Granted £5,000.
  3. A beautiful Nature & Nurture Garden will feature raised beds for each year group, covered pond, bug hotel, mud kitchen, sensory planting and other features to support our children’s learning and welfare. Target £8,500.
  4. During rainy weather large areas of the playground become waterlogged and inaccessible. Grants and fundraising towards a surface water drainage project should reduce the waterlogged areas so that our children can play outdoors for longer. Target £17,500.
  5. Outdoor Classrooms adjacent to the Nature and Nurture Garden and near the trees could provide increased outdoor learning as our climate changes. Target £10,000.
  6. Our children are fortunate to access a Forest School providing education and wellbeing support in our beautiful outdoor space. We are fundraising to develop the green space and facilities further; both for forest school and general play. Target £10,000.
  7. A new, accessible toilet block is being developed with direct access from the playground. The nursery toilets will be re-configured to accommodate more children’s toilets and a private staff toilet. Communal toilet facilities open up the potential to apply for more grants towards a New Sports Pitch which we are also fundraising for! Target £30,000.
