Friends of Floreat Wandsworth is fundraising towards a full revamp of the library to create a fantastic new, engaging space in which all the children can enjoy reading and selecting books! Our library is as old as the school (nearly 10 years!) and so is ready for a refresh and update.
The fundraising effort is starting via a sponsored read - children will "pledge" to enjoy reading every day during a 2 week window over World Book Day and give themselves a target number of pages to achieve in total! There will also be fun challenges and prizes along the way! All and any types of reading count - all types of books, comics, signs in a museum, the cereal box, if it has words, it can be counted as a page! For younger children, being read pages all counts!
The children will record pages read daily over 2 weeks and complete a number of mini challenges, whilst gathering sponsorship from friends and family. Additionally - maybe as parents you can see if your company offers the ability to "match" any funds raised to double the efforts!
