Mead Road Marathon is back! 🎉

Running Together for Make-A-Wish Foundation & Friends of Mead Road School 🏃‍♀️💛
 
We’re thrilled to bring back the Mead Road Marathon! Last held in 2022, this special event celebrates teamwork, determination, and the joy of running — all while raising money for two incredible causes.
 
This year, it’s extra special: Miss Whitehead, our Elm class teacher, is taking on the London Marathon, and we’re celebrating her challenge by inviting all our students to complete their own mini marathon at school.
 
Children will run laps on a 200-metre track, for however long they enjoy it — whether that’s one lap or ten! If every child runs just three laps, together we would complete a full marathon — a wonderful reminder of what we can achieve as a team. The event will take place during school hours in the morning, and parents and carers are warmly invited to come and cheer on the children.
 
All funds raised will be split 50/50 between:
•Make-A-Wish Foundation – granting wishes to children with serious illnesses, bringing hope and joy.
•Friends of Mead Road School – supporting our school community and projects that benefit every child.
 
When we last held this event, our pupils ran over three marathons in total and raised more than £3,000 — a fantastic achievement. This year, we hope to make it even bigger and more fun!
