On 14th July 2026, GMPS will come together once again—not just for a walk, but for something far greater. Every step we take will carry hope, determination, and the promise of a brighter future for the children of Great Hope Children’s Home in Kenya.
Last year, our school community achieved something incredible. Together, we raised over £10,000—a truly life-changing amount. Our original hope was to provide a borehole to give the children reliable access to clean water. However, due to unstable land, this wasn’t possible. But thanks to the generosity and determination of everyone involved, that money was still used to make a powerful impact.
Instead, funds helped provide new toilets for the girls, giving them dignity, safety, and improved daily living conditions. On top of this, the children were given laptops for additional learning, along with a tutor to guide them and show them how to use this technology—opening up entirely new opportunities for education and growth.
This is the difference we can make when we come together.
But the journey doesn’t stop there.
Right now, many of these children attend primary schools where the challenges are overwhelming. Classrooms often have over 60 children, with teaching limited to basic blackboards and very few learning materials. Outdoor resources are scarce, and opportunities to explore, play, and grow are limited. Education, which should inspire curiosity and possibility, instead becomes a daily struggle just to keep up.
This year, we aim even higher and we aim to walk even further!
Our goal is to walk even further than last year to give some of these children the opportunity to attend a boarding school—a place where their basic needs are met, where they are safe, supported, and given access to a quality education. For these children, this isn’t just a better school—it’s a completely different future. It’s stability. It’s opportunity. It’s hope.
This walk is more than just a school event. It is a chance for us to stand beside them, even from miles away, and say: you matter, your future matters, and we will help you get there.
