Greenfield PTFA's fundraising goal for 2026 is to restore the school pond and create an 'outdoor classroom' for everyone to enjoy. We plan to install a fully accessible pathway to a revamped outdoor classroom, where children can enjoy hands-on, play-based learning within a woodland environment.
Key elements include:
- Pond restoration: re‑lining the pond to capture and reuse rainwater, installing a timber knee rail, picket fencing, decking and gates to ensure safety.
- Accessible pathway: creating a fully accessible path around the pond and through the woodland so that all children, including those with disabilities, can participate.
- Rainwater harvesting: installing three 100 litre water butts against the Lodge classrooms to supply water for science experiments and gardening, reducing mains water usage.
- Educational equipment: purchasing measuring beakers, rain gauges, pond nets, buckets, aquascopes and pond trays to enable hands‑on learning about capacity, volume, forces, lifecycles and biodiversity.
With your support, we can restore and equip a vital part of our school and give every child the chance to thrive through outdoor play.
