Caring Matters Now is the UK charity supporting those affected by Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN) – a genetic condition, consisting of a dark brown hairy birthmark covering up to 80% of the body.  The condition can also grow internally, which in the worst cases can be fatal.

Caring Matters Now was founded in 1997 by Jodi Whitehouse, at the time a 17-year-old with extensive CMN covering her body.

Their vision:

A world where no one suffers with CMN.

Caring Matters Now focuses its work in three areas:

  • They support those affected by CMN
  • They fund pioneering research to develop effective treatments for CMN
  • They raise global awareness of CMN
