The children (and some parents) at St Andrew's (Barnsbury) CE Primary School are taking part in the 2024 Run Islington Run event.

The money raised will go towards developing areas for classes to go outside for their learning.  Resources will be purchased to encourage children to play and take part in physical games.  Children will be trained as play leads to support the play of their peers.  Adults will be trained in techniques to develop the children's play.  Workshops will be organised for professional coaches to come into school and lead the children in sports or activities that are beyond the curriculum we currently provide, therefore opening the children's eyes to new possibilities.

We feel that it is important that the children spend as much time as possible in our secure, safe and tranquil playground area.  The benefits to mental health as well as physical health are well known.  This is especially important for children who live in London.
