ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL GO TOWARDS:

  • 🎨 Fresh playground line markings
  • 🌈 Creating a more engaging play space for all children
Our Akeley school playground has been loved for many years, but it’s now in need of an update. The numbers in the 100 square markings have faded meaning children are missing out on opportunities for active play and targeted learning about numbers and their relationships. The square is a really versatile tool that can support a wide range of mathematical activities. It is a great visual resource to help pupils to discover number patterns, build confidence, independence, and improve mathematical skills.

The existing 100 number square is 5m by 5m. We have received 3 options from marking firms, one local in Buckingham:

1. Overspray existing numbers in the square - £1,450+VAT.
2. Leave existing square, add a box with the number into each existing square on the 100 number square - £1,500-2,000+VAT;
3. Rolplas over the old 100 number square, add a new 4m by 4m 100 square and an A to z Dragon - £4,150+VAT.

The first two options may not last as long. The donation target is option 3, but if less money is raised we would go for option 1 or 2.

We will have groups of 10 walking a route of 10 miles =100. The parent group will walk on Friday 16 October and the staff group will walk on Saturday 17 October.

Every donation, big or small, will help us give our pupils a playground they can enjoy for years to come. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing our fundraiser with friends, family, and the local community.

Thank you for supporting our school and helping improve our playground for our children.
