On Friday 6th February, we will be holding the first St Matthew’s World Record Fun Run.
This charity event, planned by the St Matthew’s Charity Committee, will give every child the opportunity to set their own St Matthew’s World Record.
The fun run will take place around the school during the morning. Each child will be able to choose one of 20 pre-determined records to attempt (please see the record list below).
On the morning of the event, children will tell their class teacher which record they are aiming to beat. During their class running slot, laps will be counted. At the end of the day, all categories will be reviewed, and the child in each year group who completes the most laps in their chosen category will officially set the St Matthew’s World Record. When the event is repeated in the future, these will be the records to beat!
All records will be displayed in school on the sports display board.
St Matthew’s fun runs are first and foremost about having fun and enjoying being active. We are really looking forward to launching this brand-new concept at our next charity event—an idea that has been completely created and planned by the children on the Charity Committee.
