In recent years, we have been busy developing the school site, from refurbishing the
dining area to reopening the
chapel, installing new
cricket nets, opening a
centenary garden and expanding our
car park, among other improvements. This has culminated in every room within the
entire school being either
fully refurbished or
redecorated. We are
incredibly proud of all our achievements.
Look smart, work smart.
However, there is
one thing we feel is missing from the school .... let us enlighten you!
Play improves the
cognitive, physical, social and
emotional wellbeing of young people, and through this children learn about the world and themselves and the skills they will need to
study, to
work and in
relationships. This fits in well with our ethos of ensuring that all of the students are strong in
MIND, BODY and
SPIRIT.
Therefore, our next big vision is to construct
a brand new, bespoke play area, including a climbing frame and hut.
BUT … we will need
YOUR help.
So far, we have received a
£10,000 donation from a
former pupil, a
£10,000 donation from our proprietor
Gary Hartland, a
£7,000 donation from our
PTFA The Friends, and a
£3,000 contribution from our
international student fund. This makes a total of
£30,000. The
final cost for the structure is
£50,000. Therefore, we need to raise an additional
£20,000 so that work can begin.
We propose to raise the money through a number of steps and a range of events throughout the year, as follows:
- Sponsored walks (Fully risk assessed of course!) conducted by the pupils.
- Special events during the year such as staff-supervised sleepovers and family fun nights at the school.
- Tiered donations. Donations made over a certain amount will receive a special gift For example, a £25 donation, will get you St Dom’s umbrella and Fox!
- Renting the Head’s car parking space for a year! For £750 you – and only you - can park your car right outside the main entrance in a space with your name on it!
