How will St. Dominic’s raise money for this charity?
St. Dominic’s aims to raise money to support the education part of the Ubunye Foundation.
Students who are in year 10 upwards, staff and parents are invited to take part in a charity walk. This walk is known as the Mighty Hike. It is based in the beautiful Peak District and will take place on Saturday 29th March. Participants can choose to walk – 6, 12, 18, or the full 26 miles.
The terrain is easy to walk on and used by many charities in the past. There are toilets and places to drink on route. The route will start and finish at Bakewell. However, if you want to do a shorter route, there will be a patrolling safety vehicle that can pick you up at 6,12,18 mile check points to take you back to Bakewell.
A video of the route can be viewed here - https://www.macmillan.org.uk/mighty-hikes/choose-a-hike/peak-district-hike
