Northern Counties School – Ready Steady Read/Listen

To celebrate 2026 being the National year of Reading and encourage a lifelong love of reading at home and school, Northern Counties School are running a sponsored read between the 12th October - 23rd October.

The project is being organised in conjunction with our Usborne Partner, Victoria Johnstone - The Magic Bookworm and all the money raised will go towards brand new books for our school. In addition to the sponsorship money, Usborne will also donate up to 60% of the total raised in EXTRA FREE BOOKS to the school. So, for every £600 raised, we will get an extra £360 in FREE Usborne books!

Please help us to enhance our reading resources for pupils by encouraging your child to spend a small amount of time each day either reading to themselves, to others, or being read to. They can read books, comics, magazines, newspapers, menus, websites, recipes, poems, leaflets, instructions – anything with words!

If you are able to support our sponsored read, your child would have recieved a sponsorship form and reading log if they wish to use it to record their reading. Please could you bring these to school by the 23rd October. It would be great if any sponsor money collected, could be electronically added to this link - please share it with family and friends who may like to sponsor your child and support our fundraising.

We look forward to having lots more books for your child to read, share and enjoy.

All donations are processed by our established partners Stripe and Charities Trust. SuperKind never handles your donations.

Our payment partner, Stripe, deducts a processing fee of 1.2% + 20p from all donations made with a major UK or EU card (other cards, including American Express, may incur higher fees). This goes straight to them (not to SuperKind) and is the lowest fee on the market. 100% of the net amount goes to your chosen charities.

Unlike other fundraising platforms, SuperKind is a social enterprise. We are dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of change-makers.
