Water Street School Readathon 2026

February Half Term to World Book Day 2026 (Thursday 5th March)

To celebrate World Book Day 2026, Friends of Water Street and Water Street Primary School are holding a Sponsored Readathon

The children can read whatever they want; books, e-books, magazines, newspapers, comics, classics - anything goes

It’s all about encouraging the children to read, inspiring their imaginations and having fun!

By reading to themselves, reading to others or being read to as much as possible throughout the February half term holiday the children will be building their reading muscles in preparation for....

THE WATER STREET SCHOOL WORLD BOOK DAY CHALLENGE

On World Book Day in school, the children will all be part of a book reading class relay to try to have someone from their class reading or being read to at a wonderfully decorated reading station throughout the ENTIRE school day!

Each class that completes this challenge will win a new book title of their choice for their class library as a class prize!

How can you help?

By supporting and encouraging the children with their reading and sharing this fundraising page far and wide to raise donations and applying for gift aid where possible

How will the money raised be used?

Donations raised from this readathon will be used to buy new books for the school to benefit children of all ages
