Running the Length of Britain: Phoebe & Chris’ 1000-Mile Challenge

Hi, I’m Phoebe, and this summer my dad and I are taking on the biggest adventure of our lives.

Together, we will be running from John o’ Groats to Land’s End, covering over 1000 miles across the length of the UK over 68 days.

What started as an idea between the two of us slowly grew into something much bigger. This challenge has become about resilience, family, community, and discovering what is possible when you commit to something difficult together.

This year also carries an extra personal goal for me. At 18, I hope to become the youngest women to run JOGLE. But more than anything, this journey is about sharing an adventure together and discovering what is possible one day at a time.

There will definitely be hard days along the way. We’ll be running through all kinds of weather and making our way south one step at a time, but that is part of why this journey matters so much to us.

Over the course of the run, we’ll be joined by friends, family, local running clubs, and supporters for different parts of the route, and we hope to share the experience with as many people as possible.

We are using this challenge to raise money for two charities that are both incredibly important to us.

I am a student at Lord Wandsworth College, so supporting the Lord Wandsworth Foundation means a great deal to me personally. The Foundation helps children who have lost one or both parents access opportunities and education that can genuinely change lives.

We are also proud to support the National Autistic Society, which provides vital support, understanding, and advocacy for autistic children, adults, and their families across the UK.

All donations through this page will be split equally between the two charities.

If you’d like to follow the journey as it unfolds, I’ll be sharing updates throughout the run on:

Strava: https://www.strava.com/athletes/151311397.

Whether you choose to donate, follow the journey, or simply send encouragement along the way, thank you. Every message of support will help carry us forward during the 68 days ahead.

By the end of this summer, we hope to have crossed the country one step at a time, together.
