Read-a-Thons are a brilliant, low-effort way to raise money for your school (or an external charity). Schools love them because they are easy to manage, are engaging & motivating to children, and reach a wide network for donors – increasing the total amounts raised.
SuperKind is the only cross-charity fundraising platform in the world that allows young people to create & manage their own Read-a-Thon fundraising pages to raise money for the school. It’s also incredibly easy to use, with unrivalled customer service and no platform fees. So it’s the perfect platform to run your school’s Read-a-Thon.
SuperKind is the award-winning fundraising platform for schools and PTAs.
We are free for PTAs to use and the only platform in the world that allows children to create their own online fundraisers (replacing the hassle of paper and pen sponsorship forms). SuperKind is perfect for sponsored events like Read-a-Thons (and fun runs, sponsored bounces… you name it!). PTAs also use SuperKind for national awareness days, Christmas appeals, charity fundraisers and so much more!
We can add your PTA to SuperKind within 3-4 days, allowing you to get your Read-a-Thon up and running quickly and easily – allowing you to raise more sponsorship money than ever before. That’s why SuperKind is the perfect fundraising solution for Read-a-Thons.
Check out our FAQs for more information.
SuperKind is built just for schools & PTAs, so we know how important it is to keep fundraising hassle to a minimum! We can add you as a beneficiary on our system within 3-4 days in most cases. You can then create your Read-a-Thon campaign page and invite the whole school to join in by creating their fundraising pages.
SuperKind is the only fundraising platform in the world that legally allows children under 16 to create their own fundraising pages online. Instead of having to deal with paper forms (and all the money that gets lost, or not given!), children can create their own fundraising page online themselves and send it to friends & family for sponsorship. Fundraisers are directly connected to your PTA’s overall campaign, meaning you will raise more money that ever before.
We don’t charge PTAs a penny. What’s more, we are a social enterprise, so the payment processing fees charged by our partner (Stripe) are the lowest on the market (1.2% + 20p for major UK credit cards). All eligible donations can qualify for Gift Aid, increasing your total by 25% (subject to a 4% Gift Aid reclaim fee).
Because children are running their own Read-a-Thon fundraising pages, and sending it out to their own networks, the PTA has to do less work than traditional fundraisers (bake sales, fairs etc) while raising far more!
All donations are processed by our established partners Stripe and Charities Trust. SuperKind never handles donations.
Our payment partner, Stripe, deducts a processing fee of 1.2% + 20p from all donations made with a major UK or EU card (other cards, including American Express, may incur higher fees). This goes straight to them (not to SuperKind) and is the lowest fee on the market. 100% of the net amount goes to your chosen charity. Our partner Charities Trust charges a Gift Aid reclaim fee of 4% of the Gift Aid reclaimed.
Unlike other fundraising platforms, SuperKind is a social enterprise. We are dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of change-makers.
