As a founding school of the Girls’ Day School Trust, Brighton Girls holds a special place in the history of girls’ education. The pioneering spirit of our early founders, celebrated in our four Houses, Grey, Gurney, Lyttelton, and Stanley, remains at the heart of who we are today.

A family of big and little sisters, we are proud to be a unique all-through school in the heart of Brighton, where every student is encouraged to grow into an individual who is kind in character, bold in ambition, and resilient in the face of challenge.

Brighton Girls GDST has always been an open, socially engaged school. Our tradition in fundraising, charitable work and community focus is a key aspect of our school’s ethos.

All students are encouraged to support this and develop a strong spirit of public service. From Early Years right through to Year 11, girls wholeheartedly embrace the fundraising for a wide range of charities. This is largely done through our Charity “Guild” Team, with Representatives in every year group actively fundraising throughout the year for their nominated causes.
