Sponsored events are such an effective way of raising funds that many PTAs want to run them throughout the year. We recommend planning 2 to 3 sponsored events over the course of the year, in order to avoid reaching out too frequently to the families who are expected to donate. One event per term can work well, provided that there is a good variety to the activities (more on that below). Or, if your school has a special anniversary coming up – e.g. a centenary, or the anniversary of your very own PTA – then going all-in on one huge sponsored event can be equally effective.
