At just 10 years old, Nithya Tammana has become a passionate voice in the fight against water waste. Inspired by seeing water being wasted at home while waiting for the shower to heat up, Nithya founded the initiative Save Drop to address this simple yet impactful issue. Her mission is clear: to educate others about water conservation, reduce unnecessary water waste, and advocate for the adoption of recirculation pumps across households in the United States.

Nithya’s ultimate goal is to make recirculation pumps mandatory in all households to conserve the cold water that typically goes down the drain while waiting for hot water. Through Save Drop, she’s pushing for government incentives similar to those offered for solar panels and electric vehicles, allowing families who install recirculation pumps to receive tax credits for their commitment to water conservation.

Through community outreach, school presentations, and social media campaigns, Nithya has already inspired hundreds of families and young people to save water, one drop at a time. She also involves other kids in her initiative, building a community of Save Drop Ambassadors who actively spread awareness and educate others about simple, everyday ways to save water.

Nithya’s work has earned her several awards, and she has had the opportunity to speak at events, including a TEDx Talk on water conservation. Her journey reflects a bold vision for a sustainable future where every drop counts, and she continues to advocate for water-saving policies and practices with the hope of making a lasting impact.

Nithya’s initiative, Save Drop, has quickly gained attention, with over 50 kids joining her as Ambassadors and Members, spreading the message of water conservation in schools, libraries, and local communities. Through her drive, Nithya has inspired young people across the nation to become advocates in their own right, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility from an early age.

Her work, including the publication of her books on Amazon, The Water Bus and The Recirculation Revolution, educates readers about mindful water use and encourages everyone to contribute to this essential cause.

Nithya’s unwavering dedication to the environment is shaping the next generation of young leaders committed to creating a sustainable future for all.
